The company that I work for has filed for bankruptcy (reorganization). They are telling us that they no longer have to honor our earned vacation pay, regardless of the years we have. Is this true?

I need bankruptcy advice, but how do I get information on bankruptcy from a lawyer if I don’t have any money to pay for one? Are there lawyers that give free bankruptcy consultations?

Home is co owner by all three parties on paper. Home is mortgaged, and due to real estate market amount owed is still greater then the value of the home. One person is about to declare bankruptcy. How will this affect the other two, and the mortgage?
In New Jersey, co owners cannot afford to buy out the third person.

Everything that i’ve read says that you can get a home after 1 year in a ch 13 bankruptcy, 2 years after ch 7 bankruptcy, and 3 years after a foreclosure. I am about to file a chapter 13, and wonder how long would I have to wait before I could purchase a home. Does anyone know the actual rule and could you point me to the website or where you got your information?

Thank you!

What do you think about people who deliberately go into debt maxing out their credit cards and everything else under the sun. And than get out of paying their bills by declaring bankruptcy ? I know a person who is greatly in debt through irresponsibility and a lawyer told her just give me such and such money and we;ll take care of this for you. Not fair to the people who are responsible. What do you think about it.

What are the rules about filing bankruptcy with co-signers or being the secondary cardholder on a credit card account? Also, would it be better to file an auto loan under bankruptcy or to have it voluntary reposessed?
